What Are Continuous Tone Photographic Prints

Lambda and Lightjet are the brand names of Durst and Oce (respectively) equipment that utilizes laser technologies to produce large format photomurals and continuous tone images from digital files. These images are transferred directly from your digital files to traditional reflective and backlit (Duratrans) photographic papers through the use of lasers to the same true, and time tested media that have been used for decades in custom photographic darkrooms. 

Photographic Materials Available

(C-Print)  A long lasting resin coated photographic paper. Recommended when graphics are to be mounted onto a rigid substrate, framed, or for graphics that will not be moved often once in place. Small, medium, and large point-of-purchase quantities are now affordable to any business and images can be rolled and shipped economically to remote stores and locations. Used for reflective and front lit graphics only. For most trade show uses lamination is suggested to protect the graphics from harm during handling and storing. Surfaces available are glossy, matte, and lustre.

(Flex Print)  A flexible plastic based photographic material that will not smear nor smudge, no matter how many times it is handled. This material is highly recommended for use in the creation of exhibit pop-up booth panels, and other graphics that will be handled and moved often. Lamination is recommended to insure the protection of the emulsion and image area of the graphic. Designed as a reflective media may be front lit only.

(Duratrans)  A flexible plastic based photographic material designed to be backlit only. Treatment and mounting or lamination is generally dictated by the type of fixture that this media will be mounted into. This material has been designed specifically for light boxes and other backlit situations and will appear extremely dark and in most cases is not considered viewable without a source of light placed behind the material.

(C-Metallic)  A flexible resin coated photographic paper based print which adds a pearlescent shine and color saturation to your graphics.
